8 Points of Perfection with Dr Amendola

With my upcoming trip to the states I have started to think about the damage travel can do to my skin. Air-conditioning, lack of sleep and stress all contribute to your skins appearance. I have a routine when flying for my skin care to try and keep dry skin at bay.

A doctor who travels the world in the name of aesthetics is Dr. Bruno Amendola MBCAM.

In this week’s blog post I talk to Dr Amendola about his career and the latest innovations in the industry.

Dr Bruno Amendola

Hi Dr Amendola

Tell me more about how you got into the world of aesthetics and how it all started.

I have been doing this for 22 years. I got into aesthetic medicine when I was studying in Italy and first published my thesis on botulinum toxin. I know run The Private Cosmetic Clinic in Harley Street. To date I have seen more than 20,000 patients, including many celebrities, worldwide. I travel to Dubai, Marbella and Ibiza for my private patients.

I am well recognized for my work in jaw-shaping using Botox and for the difficult advanced procedures of cheek, chin and nose enhancement with fillers.

You offer a huge range of treatments from fillers and peels to resulting and reshaping the jaw and chin. What would you say is your best treatment?

The 8 point facial (it is not exclusive to me but I do it very well!) It is a new specialised non-surgical facelift using dermal fillers to enhance and lift the face for a total rejuvenating effect. It is also known as the Fluid Facelift and the Liquid Lift. The 8 Point Lift targets key areas of the mid-face to lift, contour and revitalise the whole mid-face and lower face.

You have an extensive educational background, what words of advice do you have for people new to the industry who are looking to practice?

To always be ready to give sound, reasonable and honest advice to your patients. Never do this just for the money. This kind of work requires a lot of patience, and be prepared to work long hours!

And what about patients? The likes of me who just loves the latest treatments, any words of advice?

For me, aesthetics is a wonderful thing people can now use to enhance themselves, but my number one concern and warning to anyone thinking about procedures of any kind is: Safety First!

You mention the importance of safety in the industry and I can see you are a member of Save Face, the service for consumers to find safe and reliable practitioners. What kind of training has gone into your career to date?

I am a full member of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine (MBCAM) and I am on the Specialist Register of Aesthetic Medicine in Italy. I have been practicing medicine since 1995 and has been fully registered in the UK since 1997. I also have a four year International post degree in Aesthetic Medicine at The International School of Aesthetic Medicine of Rome.

What do you think will be next for aesthetics and for you?

There are always new things in my line of work- where there will be treatments that can improve the appearance of a matured face. Things with lasers, contouring, and tightening will continue to be the next big thing in aesthetics industry.

My plan is to keep growing The Private Cosmetic Clinic and add other features like Nutrition for overall ‘wellbeing’ for all my patients- so that can be truly 100% rejuvenated inside out.
