Coconoil Organic Virgin Coconut Oil

I am totally addicted to this product!

I have always loved the smell of coconut. It reminds me of summer holidays, sun lotion, Pina Coladas and best of all Bounty bars.

How many of you have found a reliable coconut product? It has a coconut smell I will more than likely pick it up but to date I have not found anything that really does the job with coconut as an ingredient,,, until now.

Coconoil comes in various size tubs and can be used for just about anything. I don’t cook so that was out the window so I looked online at some uses for the body, face and hair and found that it can be used in the bath, as a body cream, as a hair mask and also in smoothies or drinks, thank goodness!

Once I opened my tub I resisted the urge to eat it (it smells sooooo nice) and used it firstly as a body moisturiser. I was suitably impressed. Not only is it not greasy, it sinks into the skin and doesn’t leave a residue that stains your clothes. It also doesn’t not feel heavy. I applied it firstly at night to dry skin and still felt the effect in the morning! And for the record I sleep no less than 8 hours a night.

When I waxed my arms (I am graced with very dark natural hair) and applied this pre-wax my skin felt smooth and non-irritated. Usually creams especially those water react to my sensitive skin after waxing or shaving.

Suitably impressed I tried the oil for other uses, such as a lip balm for my chapped lips, no surprise I woke up to reduced chapping and soft smackers. I have also used it on my hair as a mask. I recently went a nice auburn colour from dark brown and my hair needs some TLC. I am pretty strict what I use on my hair and like it to look healthy. I used the oil on my fringe to start to smooth the hair and left it in overnight then washed it in the morning. My hair seems less static and smoother today. My only negative is that the smell does not last as long as I would like. But then again, I just apply more regularly.

Reading more on the product I found it was started in the wake of the 2004 tsunami as a form of income for the Sri Lankan community. Read more here. It’s an affordable item and totally natural and funds go to those who need it!

I cannot wait to find more uses for the product.
