Pregnancy Glow & Aches: Ups and Downs made easier with fabÜ Supplements

I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant with my second baby, and let me tell you it’s been a whirlwind of excitement, weird cravings, and trying to figure out what’s actually safe and helpful for me and the little one. Recently, I gave two fabÜ supplements a go—Joint-Bone-Muscle and Skin Glow.

Let’s start with the Joint-Bone-Muscle one. Around week 16, I started feeling some pretty annoying lower back stiffness and hip twinges, especially in the evenings. My body was clearly working overtime, and I was desperate for something gentle that might help without reaching straight for a hot water bottle every night which is just ridiculous in this recent heat wave. This supplement caught my eye because it includes things like Reishi mushroom, turmeric, magnesium, and vitamin D3, basically all the things I’d been told are great for joint and bone support. I took two capsules a day with water, and after about two weeks, I did notice a little difference. I wasn’t bouncing around like a gymnast or anything, but my legs and hips definitely felt less achy after a day on my feet.
The one big caveat? The label does say it’s not recommended during pregnancy. That gave me pause, and although nothing about the ingredients screamed “unsafe,” I still checked with my midwife before carrying on. She advised it’s probably okay for short-term use, but best not to rely on it long-term without more research. So while I liked the little boost it gave me, I have only taken it for short term relief.

Now, onto the Skin Glow supplement. This one really excited me because my pregnancy skin has been… unpredictable, to say the least. Some days it’s glowing, other days it’s dry and patchy with breakouts thrown in for fun. This blend has Reishi again, plus vitamins A, C, E, D and a bunch of skin-loving stuff like niacin and amino acids. I was hopeful, and honestly, this one felt like a win. My skin tone evened out a bit, and my nails started growing stronger, not as bendy and flaky as before. I didn’t notice much with my hair, but I think that takes a bit longer.
Again though, the label made it clear it’s not officially pregnancy-safe, which is a bit frustrating. You’d think with all those nourishing ingredients it would be ideal, but I guess until proper studies are done, brands have to err on the side of caution. I ran it by my GP and got the all-clear for short-term use, but if you’re at all unsure, definitely check first.
All in all, I think both of these fabÜ products are really lovely and clearly made with care. They’re not magic pills, but they do offer gentle, noticeable support. That said, if you’re pregnant like me, it’s super important to have that extra conversation with your healthcare provider before diving in. I’ve now switched to supplements specifically made for pregnancy, but I’d absolutely consider trying these again post-baby.
So if you’re on your own pregnancy journey and wondering what’s worth it, I hope this helps you decide what’s right for you and your bump.
