Piki Glow Toner

If you haven’t heard of Pixi Toner then you must have been living under a rock for the last 12 months. In terms of skincare it is all the rage and has a massive cult following in the UK and USA.

Pixi is brand of makeup artist Petra Strand who launched the flagship Soho store over 20 years ago. Petra is a busy working mum and her mission was to create a skincare range that mixed botanical ingredients with an easy to use skincare regime. The result is Pixi Beauty.

My skin is generally combination and I find it hard to get a toner that can reduce oil while not drying out my skin. Some toners can be way too harsh and others way to delicate that I don’t feel like my skin is getting the attention it deserves. When I opened my Pixi Toner, at £18 for 250ml, I think it is a reasonable price and goes a long way, the first thing I noticed was the smell, absolutely divine! It really feels like a treat for your skin.

Since using the toner my skin looks clearer, more refreshed and balanced. The product is alcohol free which means the areas of skin like my cheeks and forehead do not dry out any further. Instead it hydrates because it contains Aloe Vera. It does not sting or make my skin red. In fact it makes me look fresher and my skin more balanced. I think this is a result of the ginseng which improves circulation and tightens the skin. It also contains glycolic acid which has exfoliating properties which I often use in other products to refresh the skin and stop my ageing. It helps to rid the skin of dead skin cells.

Glycolic Acid also assists by cleaning the skin of dead skin cells and accelerating cell renewal. Although this might sound painful it is not at all because Pixi toner has soothing properties and is gentle to the skin so it does not have any harsh side effects and does not strip the skin like some toners can.

This is a beauty essential for my bathroom cabinet home and away.
