Weleda as a brand prides itself on its illustrious 95-year history of producing 100% natural organic herbal products. Originally set-up by a natural scientist, a doctor and a chemist in Munich, Germany it has now grown and survived the test of time, as such we can be confident that the moisturising cream is from good stock. I have never used any of their products before so this was a first for me.
The cream itself states it will ‘moisturise the skin, improves elasticity, firmness and regeneration’. It has a lot to live up to.
It is delivered in a non-glamorous aluminium tube, sky blue in colour. It looks suitably manly and rugged. An important benefit it that it is only 30ml meaning no issues if you have it within your hand luggage on flights. I have lost some expensive items to that oversight. It also means I can easily take it in my luggage and apply when needed. I personally take it to work with me, perfect for use after a swim or gym before work.
The smell is unique but nice, not like some other moisturising creams I have use. It is not heavily scented and it does not smell to feminine or overtly masculine. Sometimes an overly masculine scent can make you feel like a teenager, this is subtler. It is a clean smell similar to tea tree but not as sharp.
A little goes a long way, especially on clean shaven skin and leaves a nice tingle post application. I found no oiliness, greasiness or general shine on your forehead which is sometimes the case with skin products.
The smell, inoffensive and handy packaging and non-greasy feel on my face means this ticks all my boxes.
