Winter Skin Savers... (and hair!)

Halloween is over, November is here and so is winter. I have been plagued with a cold and my sore nose and chapped lips could do with some real TLC. I have found the top cost saving additions to my winter regime. These products do not break the bank meaning you save more pennies for the xmas parties while saving your skin!

Too Cool For School Egg-Zyme Whipped Foam Cleanser, Boots, £10.50

It is not the first time I have raved about this Korean beauty brand. Not only do I love the cute packaging, but I also love their affordable product range which is expanding by the day!

Now available in Boots and online the Egg-Zyme Whipped Foam Cleanser is a gentle face wash containing lysozyme particles. These particles are anti-bacterial and found in egg white extract. Interestingly the egg white protects the yolk from bacteria and this same concoction is used in this skincare. The cleanser works to unclog pores by gentle exfoliation. It is suitable for all skin types because of its low pH. Oh, and it is free of parabens, sulphate and mineral oil.

I am plagued with dry skin especially on my thighs, arms and stomach. It usually causes itching and gets worse in winter. This year I have tried to keep on keep ahead of the condition and ensure my skin is moisturised to the max before the cold and harsh winds of autumn and winter can really take hold.

The best products are body oils. I find that they sink into the skin quickly, smell amazing, maintain their scent on the skin and do not transfer. I much prefer them to creams which can leave a sticky residue and transfer to your clothes making the damp.

The Shea Moisture massage oil is a great smelling all round body oil. It is suitable as a moisturiser, massage oil and can be used in your bath. It is non greasy and made from totally natural ingredients. It is a thicker consistency than some spray oils bit the bottle allows control over how much you use. Above all I like the coconut scent which reminds me of holidays and good times.

Talking of high street bargains if you are lookings for a skin booster with the cold weather approaching then why not try Super Facialist. The affordable brand make a range of skin boosters designed to moisturise the skin amongst other things.

The Retinol+ Anti-Ageing Booster comes in at just £20 and you can pick it up at Boots or Sainsburys. Simply add to your moisturior in the morning and evening. As the name suggests this contains 0.3% pure Retinol which helps with the appearance of lines and wrinkles and increase firmness. This powerful little glass container holds Vitamin E to nourish and smooth the skin along with Lupin Seed Extract which stimulates collagen and improves elasticity.

The Super Facialist Retinol+ Booster is complemented by the Vitamin C+ Brightener. This is a great secret weapon pre-xmas works party or a good skin pick me up when the weather and late nights get the better of you.

With 1% Vitamin C in this booster simply add a drop to your moisturizer. It has the added benefit of protecting against UV effects so makes a great addition for the day. It gave me a real glow which boosted my skin and overall make up during the day.

Too Cool for School Pumpkin Purifying 24k Mask

The best way to recover from a winter cold is a weekend pamper. The vital ingredient of any pamper session is a face mask and none are more on trend than the latest in K-Beauty! I have already featured some items from Korean beauty brands but Too Cool For School is an absolute favorite.

The 24k gold mask not only makes you feel like a queen but it is also packed with acids and enzymes that exfoliate and nourish the skin. Wash away the dead skin and dull complexion and protect the new skin from the elements. The mask is a beautiful gold colour and makes you look like the cast of a bond film. You also get the satisfaction of peeling it off!

Lastly, lets not forget your hair. So many times I have focused on my skin and ignored my tresses. Hair can be a dead giveaway to your health. Dry ends. fizz from the damp winter air and a dull colour can ruin your winter looks. Treat your hair with a scrummy treatment like the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Yogurt Hydrate & Repair Protein Power Treatment.

Created from natural ingredients this masque brings amazing benefits to your hair. Suitable for all hair types the treatment means business. It is a protein repair butter that is rich in strengthening nutrients.

Shea Moisture, an American company founded in 1991 use certified organic Shea Butter, ultra-moisturizing Manuka Honey and Yogurt in the hair formula. The ingredients not only smell divine they also work to strengthen weakened hair strands, combating breakage and split ends. A little goes a long way and I would advise you apply to wet hair and wrap in a towel to nourish for 10- 15 minutes.
